Handwoven Torma Skirt Fabric for Jõgevamaa Upper Secondary School
The Story Behind the Torma Skirt Fabric (ERM 3985)
Woven for the girls' folk dance group of Jõgevamaa Upper Secondary School, this project required patience, precision and perseverance. Although it involved many hours of repetitive work and proved to be a personal challenge, it was, like every demanding project, a valuable learning experience.
The fabric was woven using 42 metres of linen warp on a Toika countermarch loom. From a technical perspective, the weaving process progressed smoothly without any major surprises.
